Two sets of luxury home neighborhoods make up the north Dallas luxury home enclave. The first, which includes well-established and long-admired neighborhoods like Preston Hollow, Greenway Parks and Bluffview Estates, is located north and east of the Park Cities, about eight miles from downtown Dallas. The second, which includes mostly newer, but similarly exclusive neighborhoods like Preston Trail, Oakdale and Oaktree, is just east of the Dallas North Tollway and south of Plano, about 15 miles north of downtown Dallas.
The southern part of the north Dallas area is known especially for its luxurious homes and out-of-the-way, country-like setting. If you are looking for an estate property with acreage that is for sale anywhere near downtown Dallas, this probably is where you will find it.
Pre-owned north Dallas luxury homes costing $1 million and up recently have sold on average for adjusted $275.60 per square foot and were on average 25.0 years old. The reported average price of newly constructed homes in this area has been $265.40 per square foot.
