The mix of children living in North Dallas luxury home neighborhoods who attend public schools versus those who attend private schools tends to depend to a large degree on whether they live on the north or south end of the north Dallas area. Relatively more children living in the south end of the area attend private schools and a greater number living in the north end attend public schools.
North Dallas public schools
Some of DFW's most exclusive and prestigious neighborhoods, such as Preston Hollow, Glen Lakes and Lake Forest, are located in the southern part of the north Dallas area and lie within the Dallas ISD and/or the somewhat more highly rated Richardson ISD attendance zones. Luxury home neighborhoods, like Oakdale and Oaktree, are located further to the north and lie within Plano ISD attendance zones.
