The Fort Worth Independent School District currently operates 80 elementary schools, 24 middle schools, 13 high schools, and 13 alternative schools. These 144 schools are attended by approximately 80,200 students who live in Fort Worth, Aledo, Arlington, Benbrook, Edgecliff Village, Forest Hill, Saginaw, and Westworth Village.
For the 2006-2007 school year, Fort Worth ISD was rated academically acceptable by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). Among the 143 campuses rated, 3 received exemplary ratings, 16 received recognized ratings, 85 received academically acceptable ratings, 15 received academically unacceptable ratings, and 24 were not rated. The percentage of Fort Worth ISD students passing the 2006-2007 Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) was near or slightly above all Texas schools.
Four Fort Worth ISD schools are attended by students living in the luxury home neighborhoods profiled on this web site. As shown below, two of these campuses were rated recognized by the TEA based on their 2006-2007 school year performances, and two received academically acceptable ratings.
