 The Highland Park Independent School District currently operates four elementary schools, one intermediate school, one middle school and one high school. These seven schools are attended by approximately 6,300 students who live in Highland Park, University Park, and Dallas.
For the 2006-2007 school year, Highland Park ISD was rated exemplary by the Texas Education Agency (TEA), one of only nineteen school districts in the state to receive this rating. All seven of its campuses received exemplary ratings. The percentage of Highland Park ISD students passing the 2006-2007 Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) was among the highest in the Texas.
