The Highland Park Independent School District currently operates four elementary schools, one intermediate school, one middle school and one high school. These seven schools are attended by approximately 6,300 students who live in Highland Park, University Park, and Dallas.
For the 2009-2010 school year, Highland Park ISD was rated exemplary by the Texas Education Agency and was one of only three DFW area school districts where both the district and all its campuses received exemplary ratings by meeting without exception all of the TEA's rating guidelines. The percentage of Highland Park ISD students passing the 2009-2010 Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) was among the highest in the Texas.
