The Irving Independent School District currently operates three early childhood schools, twenty elementary schools, seven middle schools, four high schools, and four special programs centers. These thirty-four schools are attended by more than 33,000 students who live in Irving and Grand Prairie.
For the 2006-2007 school year, Irving ISD was rated academically acceptable by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). Five of its campuses received recognized ratings, twenty-six received academically acceptable ratings, one received an academically unacceptable rating, and six were not rated. The percentage of Irving ISD students passing the 2006-2007 Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) was near or slightly lower than all Texas schools.
Four Irving ISD schools are attended by students living in the luxury home neighborhoods profiled on this web site. As shown below, all four of these campuses were rated academically acceptable by the TEA based on their 2006-2007 school year performances.
