The southwest Collin / southeast Denton counties luxury home enclave is north of Dallas, requiring an approximately 18 mile drive from downtown Dallas to its southern boundary. From south to north, it stretches approximately nine miles, from the south side of Plano up to Fairview and southwest McKinney.
During the past fifteen years, the southwest Collin / southeast Denton counties area has seen very rapid development and construction of some of DFW's most desirable luxury home developments, including west Plano's Willow Bend and Lakeside on Preston neighborhoods and southwest Frisco's Starwood and Stonebriar neighborhoods. These are, however, but a few of this area's many beautiful luxury neighborhoods, and developers already are preparing for many additional high-end homes to be built in the northern portions of the southwest Collin / southeast Denton counties area.
As would be expected, the age of recently sold pre-owned southwest Collin / southeast Denton counties homes is substantially less than in the more established luxury home enclaves that are closer to downtown Dallas. These homes averaged 10.0 years old and have sold for an average $160.90 per square foot. The average price of newly constructed homes in this area has been $153.80 per square foot.
